  • This position is kitchen only.

  • Hour Requirements: 
    • At least 15 hours of availability throughout the week including eight hours of availability three Saturdays a month. 
  • Must be able to work until close to 10:30pm.
  • Must be able to use all kitchen equipment: pizza oven, slicers, knives, grill etc.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced and qualified Lead Kitchen Supervisor to organize the kitchen’s activities. You will be the first in command in the kitchen and will ensure dishes are presented well and of the highest quality before they arrive to the customers.

Responsibilities   

  • Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
  • Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the consistency and quality of the servings
  • Place food orders and/or equipment 
  • Arrange for repairs when necessary
  • Remedy any problems or defects
  • Be fully in charge of training kitchen staff
  • Oversee the work of subordinates
  • Make sure all shifts are correctly covered/finding replacements as needed
  • Mandatory Monthly Meetings (First & Second Tuesday each month from 4p-5p)
  • Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-workers

This position is responsible for the operations, achieving sales objectives, growth and training of staff at Urban Vines Winery & Brewery.  Working alongside the General Manager and Wine Club Manager to oversee all aspects of Urban Vines.  

The Winery Assistant has a strong focus on sales, daily operations and customer service. Key responsibilities for Winery Assistant Supervisor: Assist the General Manager in all operations and duties of Urban Vines Winery. 

  • Staff level/ Staffing needs with General Management 
    • Help come up with growth and development goals for all team members. 
    • Actively maintain staff 
    • Hiring/Recuriting staff 
    • First round interviews
    • Being able to fulfill every shift (never shut off fire pits, igloos, tastings, etc) 
    • Glassware, wine club bags, growlers, uniforms, etc 
  • Oversees overall winery operations: staff uniforms, music, social media, supplies, staffing, not limited to this list
  • Responsible for inventory for FOH and BOH management, including but not limited to, supplies orders, food orders, slushy supplies, organizations and event supplies.
  • Work closely with all social media: scheduling post, daily post, flyers but not limited to this list
  • Lead the team for success. 
  • Assist with organizing, planning & running all staff meetings/event/team building 
  • Attending monthly upper management, team, shift and staff meetings.
  • Working closely with the kitchen needs: prep, cleaning, policies, etc 
  • Facilitate high standards of cleanliness and organization in all areas of Urban Vines. 
  • Working closely with upper management to adjust and revamping any Urban Vines policies and procedures.  
  • If a team member isn’t meeting expectations in their current position, assist, train, and cover position if necessary. 
  • Employee Reviews 
  • Assist with personnel management and training, including but not limited to, interviewing potential candidates, overseeing training of new part-time associates, and management of ongoing part time associates.
  • Assist and oversee the scheduling for all Urban Vines.
  • Responsible for opening and closing procedures
  • Communicate with guests, co-workers, and business associates in a courteous and professional manner. Must be people and hospitality oriented.
  • Working off site events as needed
  • Perform other duties as required including assisting other departments as needed.

  • Our production hours are 8-4 Monday-Friday.
  • Part-time and Full-time candidates are preferred.
  • As a Brewery Team member you will support our operations in several areas including: Brewing on a nanoscale brewery (4 bbls), cellaring, keg filling, keg cleaning, taproom stock, keg cooler cleaning/organization, inventory management, draft line cleaning.
  • Flexibility for occasional weekend and evening shifts as needed for events or festivals.
 
Qualifications

  • Able to meet physical demands of the position (standing, stooping, lifting up to 165 lbs (1 full beer keg) for up to 8 hours per day.

  • Must be 21+ years of age and able to obtain a servers permit
